Protect Duty (Martyn’s Law)
Preparing publicly accessible premises for Martyn’s Law coming into force in the United Kingdom
The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025, known as Martyn’s Law, establishes a new preparedness and protection framework for certain premises and events in the United Kingdom. The Act received Royal Assent on 3 April 2025, but its main obligations are not yet in force. The Security Industry Authority indicates that it is expected to come into force in spring 2027.
